Skyelyn MacNeil Bernier is a painter, illustrator, and musician based in CT. After graduating from the University of Connecticut in 2023, she has pursued her love of visual arts through acrylic, watercolor, and mixed-media.
Her work explores themes that bridge the gap between the physical and metaphysical world. She is deeply inspired by music—the interplay of harmony and dissonance, sound and silence—and channels these contrasts into her visual practice. Animals, often depicted with cosmic textures and celestial forms, serve as conduits between worlds, embodying both earthly familiarity and otherworldly mystery. Through these surreal portraits, she seeks to reveal the spiritual essence that underlies all living beings.
Much of her paintings are a meditation on duality: the animal and the divine, the grounded and the transcendent, the internal and external. Just as music creates resonance through contrast, her work aims to evoke an emotional bridge between the tangible world and the unseen energies that surround us.
Beyond the canvas, Skyelyn can be found writing songs and playing music with her band Solgyres, wandering through nature, or drawing inspiration from books and songs written by women artists who came before her
Skyelyn is available for commissions, including album artwork, portrait paintings, custom paintings, and custom illustrated cards.
